This home will utilizes technologies that are good for the community.

• Living roof will contain and reuse water and run-off, keeping it out of the storm water system.
• Rainwater catchment system will use solar power to pump filtered rainwater back into the home to flush toilets, do the laundry, wash the car, irrigate the garden. Significantly reducing the use and need of potable (treated and purified) water for non-potable uses.
• Site will protect and reuse topsoil.
• Integrated resource efficient landscaping techniques and technologies utilizing an engineered drip irrigation and direct head sprinklers. Homes with large lawns waste water, fuel, energy and manpower to maintain a uniform turf. Homes that use upward pointed spray sprinkler heads to water during the day waste more than 50% of that treated drinkable water. A significant amount of water is evaporated before it penetrates to the roots. Over watering contributes to water run-off. The finer the spray (smaller size of water molecule) the less that makes it to the plants.
• Dual flush toilets significantly reduce water usage overall.
• Pervious concrete allows the storm water to naturally return to the earth, not be sheeted off to compound our communities flooding problems.
